Description
QED RUBY Anniversary Evolution Speaker Cable
QED Ruby Anniversary Evolution speaker cable marks 40 years of QED being at the forefront of UK speaker cable design. It utilizes QED “Aircore Technology™” in a new miniature format to bring high end cable philosophies to the budget hi-fi market.
The individual copper strands are visible through the jacket, giving this cable its unique look. Ruby Anniversary combines high-end cable technologies with a reasonable price point which makes it ideal for mid to high end hi-fi and home theatre applications.

QED Ruby Anniversary Evolution speaker cable is best terminated with high quality Airloc Forte banana plugs or Airloc spade terminals for optimum performance.
Cable listed is unterminated and supplied in a single length in metres as ordered.
Please note – Airloc banana plugs shown are not included and are optional. Specialist Airloc crimping tool is required for termination of QED cable.
Please see QED Ruby Anniversary Evolution speaker cable terminated for prices and to order QED Ruby fitted with Airloc connectors.
QED RUBY Features
High Performance Low Density Polyethylene Dielectric
Cuts down on the amount of audio signal energy lost due to cable capacitance
Complementary Conductor Geometry
Conductors of different diameters carry the same audio signal
Five 99.999% OFC conductors
Provides a low resistance pathway for the audio signal and delivers stunning high frequency detail
AIRLOC Forte Banana Plugs – Optional
AIRLOC Forte Forte banana plugs with improved pin section and metal covers are recommended (optional), designed to maximise contact area throughout the wide tolerance range found in 4mm amplifier and speaker sockets. This means that the connection remains uniformly tight and with its premium gold-plating, provides optimum sonic performance through time.
Aircore™ Technology Explained
One of the big problems as cable conductor size increases, is how to keep the inductance low. This is vital to reduce cable losses and prevent inaccuracies in the signal transfer process, i.e. distortion. The normal way to do this is to use a number of individually insulated conductors within the cable construction. This method is utilised to great effect in the design of QED’s Genesis Silver Spiral loudspeaker cables.

To take advantage of this design ethos, but in a more conventional format, X-TUBE forms the conductor in the shape of a tube with an inner aircore. This has the same effect as using multiple insulated conductors and ensures that high frequencies are transmitted cleanly, with the added benefit of ease of termination. The unique tubular conductor geometry also provides lower flux density within the conductors, which gives improved transparency to the sound.
The overall result is more high frequency detail, less distortion and greater performance.
