QED Silver Anniversary XT Bi-wire Speaker Cable Airloc Terminated
QED Silver Anniversary XT Bi-wire Speaker Cable AIRLOC Terminated with 4+4 Airloc Forte banana plugs or spade terminal connectors to order.
QED Silver Anniversary XT Reference Bi-wire Speaker Cable was designed with performance in mind with the added enhancement of the Aircore™ technology found in the most prestigious QED X-Tube cables. The precise cylindrical construction of the silver-plated, 99.999% pure, oxygen free copper cables reduces the distortion caused by ‘skin effect’.
The result is a completely neutral speaker cable that will allow your hi-fi or home cinema system to perform at its best. The cable is a standard ‘figure 8’ configuration and is attractively finished, with each silver-plated core visible through a flexible 3.9mm diameter clear polyethylene outer sheath.
Brand new AIRLOC Forte plugs with improved pin section are fitted, designed to maximise contact area throughout the wide tolerance range found in 4mm amplifier and speaker sockets. This means that the connection remains uniformly tight and with its premium gold-plating, provides optimum sonic performance through time.
QED Silver Anniversary XT Reference Bi-wire Speaker Cable Terminated can be fitted with Airloc Forte banana plugs and/or spade terminals.
Aircore™ Technology Explained
One of the big problems as cable conductor size increases, is how to keep the inductance low. This is vital to reduce cable losses and prevent inaccuracies in the signal transfer process, i.e. distortion. The normal way to do this is to use a number of individually insulated conductors within the cable construction. This method is utilised to great effect in the design of QED’s Genesis Silver Spiral loudspeaker cables.
To take advantage of this design ethos, but in a more conventional format, X-TUBE forms the conductor in the shape of a tube with an inner aircore. This has the same effect as using multiple insulated conductors and ensures that high frequencies are transmitted cleanly, with the added benefit of ease of termination.
The unique tubular conductor geometry also provides lower flux density within the conductors, which gives improved transparency to the sound.
The overall result is more high frequency detail, less distortion and greater performance.
