Description

QED XT40i Jumper Links ABS AIRLOC

QED XT40i Jumper Links ABS AIRLOC terminated cables will improve the performance of your system when replacing the speaker’s standard links. This is not only a quick and easy upgrade to your hi-fi, but is also relatively inexpensive.

QED Reference XT40i speaker jumper links are supplied fully terminated with AIRLOC ABS banana plugs and AIRLOC ABS spade terminal connectors for excellent sonic performance at an affordable price.

QED Reference XT40i jumper links on offer are a stereo pair: 4 cables in total (one pair each +ve and -ve polarity designated links).

Please note, QED XT40i jumper links also available with standard connectors – please ask for details.

XT40i Speaker Cable is a relatively new design, utilising X-Tube (Aircore™) Technology in a new format to bring high end cable performance.

QED XT40i pure copper speaker cable uses an evolution of QED’s established X-Tube technology to guarantee superb timing and stereo imaging, bringing superb rhythmic accuracy and musicality to a cable of this modest price. Very low DC resistance adds unrivalled frequency response to XT40i’s already potent audio capability. The result is a cable that advances on the class-leading standards set by its predecessor.

Air Gap Dielectric

QED have added a brand new and highly innovative low-loss Air Gap dielectric to the cable by increasing the separation of its conductors and therefore the amount of air between them. This technology halves the dissipation and capacitance characteristics of the cable, resulting in numerous audible improvements – particularly where timing and rhythmic accuracy are concerned. Despite this increased separation, XT40i retains the sort of cross-sectional area that makes it ideal for long cable runs.

Large Cross-Sectional Area

The cable’s 4mm2 cross sectional area means XT40i exhibits very low resistance, allowing amplifiers to exert outstanding control over the speakers they are driving.

X-Tube™ Technology

At low frequencies both X-Tube™ and conventional stranded/solid core speaker cables convey signals in a linear way. However, at high frequencies, X-Tube™ retains a near-linear signal transfer, whereas the conventional cables fail to conduct uniformly across the entire conductor area.

In standard speaker cables at high frequencies, current flow is highest at the periphery with rapidly deteriorating current density towards the centre of the conductor. This results in higher distortion and compromises the cable’s performance.

X-Tube™ with polycore technology exhibits much lower self-inductance and is therefore less affected by this problem. The polycore technology reduces loop inductance to levels only achievable using more costly and difficult to terminate cables.

The result is a cable with more high frequency detail, less distortion and greater performance.

Aircore™ Technology Explained

One of the big problems as cable conductor size increases, is how to keep the inductance low. This is vital to reduce cable losses and prevent inaccuracies in the signal transfer process, i.e. distortion.
The normal way to do this is to use a number of individually insulated conductors within the cable construction. This method is utilised to great effect in the design of QED’s Genesis Silver Spiral loudspeaker cables.

To take advantage of this design ethos, but in a more conventional format, X-TUBE forms the conductor in the shape of a tube with an inner aircore. This has the same effect as using multiple insulated conductors and ensures that high frequencies are transmitted cleanly, with the added benefit of ease of termination.

The unique tubular conductor geometry also provides lower flux density within the conductors, which gives improved transparency to the sound.

The overall result is more high frequency detail, less distortion and greater performance.
